Services and products

Describe your services:
What I do is best is described as Functional and Lifestyle Medicine. Functional and Lifestyle Medicine aims to remove what is obstructing normal function, and add what is necessary for optimal health. For example – if certain food are causing weight gain, those foods need to be removed and replaced with healthier alternatives; or if your hormones are not in balance, our goal would be to support the body so proper hormone balance can be achieved. We accomplish this through Body Composition Analysis, Allergy and Hormone Testing, Blood, Saliva and Stool Testing. Then we remedy the situation through nutritional counseling, detoxification programs, chiropractic care, or with other services offered in our clinic.

Issues / Benefits

Presenting issues and problems or types of clients

Benefits and results people see

What are some benefits/results people see:
My patients experience lower cholesterol, lower blood pressure, lower blood sugar, weight loss, and improved energy. Typically, you will regain energy levels in as quickly as a week. I have seen patients with type-2 diabetes and high blood pressures eliminate their need for medication. Ultimately, I want you to be healthier next year than you are this year. It is completely do-able.

Healing philosophy or mission

Uniqueness and what makes you good

I have 18 years of experience and personal challenges with food and weight. My personal challenges have shaped the way I practice to have a lot of empathy for people. I want you to know that you have a choice when faced with taking a medication for a lifetime. Our office is different because we want to make these lifestyle changes easy!
I believe feeling good and being healthy is possible in this fast-paced life. I have 2 young children, run a practice, have a happy marriage, am working on a Master’s and I am involved in my church; I manage to eat right, eat real food, and exercise 4-6 times per week. If our programs were difficult I wouldn’t be able to follow them.
I want you to be successful and I want to make this simple and do-able for you.

Education and training

I graduated from the University of Central Florida in 1988 with degrees in Biology and Psychology, and from National University of Health Sciences in 1992 with a BS in Human Biology and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. I have taken hundreds of hours in Post-Graduate Nutrition, Functional Medicine, and Internal Medicine and Diagnosis. I am currently pursuing a post-doctoral Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice.

Appointment length and fee range

Initial visits $150-250 depending on complexity and time – between 1-1.5 hours. Follow-up visits range from $57 to $140. Laboratory charges are additional. Some of these fees may be covered by insurance. Supplements are additional and are not covered by insurance.

Typical session and how to prepare:

Describe a typical session and how someone might prepare for it:
An initial appointment is about an hour to an hour and a half. I will spend that time getting to know your entire health history; how your health got to the point it is today. Then I look at what you want to accomplish – this is about YOU! The goals and how healthy you want to be have to come from you.
Helpful information to bring with you are any laboratory results – blood, stool and saliva. If you don’t have these, our office staff can provide you with a form that we can request your results. At the first visit we will create a preliminary plan to gather any information we need to best serve you.
