Reconnecting to our ancestral destiny can heal our lives. Healing requires change, transformation, and a willingness to let go - every moment - of who we think we are. When this is done with love, we can return to the beginning of the universe, a time before we were tethered to fear. I will lovingly assist you in this process.

Services

Services and products

I help seekers align with their life destinies by reconnecting them to their ancestors; cleaning and balancing the energies of the body; helping them understand the ways in which emotional trauma/attachment creates patterns, dis-ease, and illnesses; and teaching them to use these tools for themselves.
I facilitate healing by using various modalities, including orisa/egungun practices, ritual, Reiki, Nomena, chakra and elemental balancing, intuitive readings).
I also dedicate time and space to serve other healers, priest/priestesses through The Arroyo Healing Network.
Each Labor Day weekend, I coordinate the ancestral and healing tent at the African Festival in Washington Park , Chicago .

How does your healing modality work?
As a priestess and practitioner, and with permission of the physical and spiritual bodies of those who come to me, I utilize the body’s energy fields to understand the overall health (spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical) of those who seek help. Gentle, direct contact with these fields allows me to see and feel balances, imbalances, blocks, and/or clarity within the person’s body. In addition, I serve as a vessel for the ancestors and spirits to speak to both of us.
Based on what the body needs, it is possible that a seeker may receive all services. All my modalities (orisa/egungun practices, ritual, Reiki, Nomena, chakra and elemental balancing, intuitive readings) often collapse into one and someone seeking services does not need to choose.
I also collaborate with other healing practitioners and medical professionals.

How do you see your services evolving over the next three years?
For the past five years, I have been invited as a scholar, healer, and artist to work with small communities on issues of healing and reconnecting with the ancestors to heal historical wounds.
Over the next three years, my services will evolve into deeper collaborations with historians, anthropologists, and artists, as well as other priests/priestesses to expand in helping individuals heal from historical and family traumas within their communities and helping communities heal from these same wounds while supporting the individual.

Issues / Benefits

Presenting issues and problems or types of clients

Why do people come to see you?
People come to see me because they are seeking healing and a deeper understanding of their lives within a larger spiritual and ancestral context. In addition, many people come to see me because they want to align to their destinies within the same contexts.

Who is an ideal client?
Anyone. People who have sought my help include medical doctors, priests/priestesses, other Reiki masters and healers, families of those in comas and near death, and artists. Each have been at various stages in life: needing only slight clarity about a situation, feeling completely lost, recently diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, or simply wanting to learn how to relax the body.

Benefits and results people see

Most people comment that after a session they are more relaxed, lighter, and have a clarity of mind. In addition, people experience a deeper understanding of their current situations in relationship to ancestral agreements or traumas; a deeper understanding of how attachment to particular emotions generate specific physical illnesses; strength and strategies to develop short term and long term goals that align with the life destiny; and a profound and noticeable release and or shift in energies.

Unique

Healing philosophy or mission

The body (human, animal, earth) holds memory. I work to access that memory to help people understand where they have been, where they are, and where they can go. Each person can choose to heal or not to heal. Once the commitment to heal is made, a road is opened to aid in the process.

Healing does not mean a life without pain or sorrow. However, we can ask our ancestors and spirit guides to learn our lessons joyfully and harmoniously. It is important to me that each person understand and reconnect to their original chosen destiny. By looking at this, we can see where we have strayed, or where we have made agreements that have nothing to do with what we are born to do.

I understand fully that not everyone is willing or able to step out on a limb without a leaf or wing to do this work. However, I hope to instill in my students and those who seek my help a courage that allows them to follow the path of Destiny without regret, and with the certainty that the Ancestors and Universe will provide all that they need and want.

Uniqueness and what makes you good

Describe your style or approach:
My students, other priest/priestesses, and those who seek help would say that I am a honeyed knife.
I am gentle with everyone; however, I require that you seek the answers. So, if you come to me expecting that I’m going to tell you all the answers and give you all the clues to get them, you’d be disappointed. It would be very easy to remove every block, reset every break, and tell the whole story. However, in a few months or years, you would return without ever having learned the lesson or the reasons why you were where you were. My goal is to do the work with you not for you. So, I help each person seek and answer.
Healers awaken what is already present. I am your mirror. The voice that calls your true voice forward, shakes it free from what imprisons it.
When we are done, I want you to have the tools and strategies that can help you move forward; understand the emotional attachments that have created unhealthy patterns or dis-ease, disharmony, or illnesses; and understand your own responsibility to each action, reaction, emotion, and movement.
I want you to be able to identify the pattern and attachment that has caused harm in your life as it is happening so you can shift it, remove it, end it.

What makes you different/good at what you do?
I am dedicated to the path of my Destiny. I am initiated and trained as an egungun priestess with a particular focus on helping individuals understand their lives within the larger cultural, historical, social, and spiritual contexts into which they were born (past and present lives).
I teach from a foundation of understanding and accepting change and death as a part of life, while at the same time calling joy and love into life. In addition, my direct contact with Spirit and the Ancestors provides alternate perspectives during sessions.
I am a poet and writer with a focus on history. All of my modalities are incorporated into one and I allow the body to guide me as to what is needed. I speak directly and I am not afraid to tell someone that it is not time for work or to refer them to someone else when needed.

Why do you do what you do?
Because I was born to do this: This work is in alignment with my chosen life destiny. I approach this path with love and great respect for each person.

What else might someone want to know about you?
This is the path I was born to, I chose, and was given. This is part of my Destiny and I walk it in love, have walked it in love each lifetime. Each person who comes to see me or work with me is a teacher as well. When you come, I approach the work this way. We all need a little help sometimes

Logistics

Appointment length and fee range

How long is a typical session?
45 to 90 minutes

Fee Range
$100/session

Typical session and how to prepare:

Describe a typical session:
Each session is different. Each person is asked to complete an information form, after which we review the process about to happen. You are invited to relax, breathe, and be clear about an intention, if possible. I then (1) clean your energy field, (2) balance your body’s elements, (3) balance your charkas, (4) listen to what else needs to be done, (5) close the session. During each session, I listen for sounds, songs, information from the ancestors or spirits. I utilize bells, oils, stones, crystals, feathers, sound, breath as part of this process. I make notes during this time. Afterwards, I invite you to share your experiences. We speak at length about what I have seen, heard, and what the next steps are. I explain to each person the tools I use so you may know what is available to you.

How should someone prepare for a session?
When you schedule an appointment, we will talk about this before you come in for a session. For each person it is different. Sometimes, I may talk to you 1 to 3 times before you come. Sometimes you may have a set of things to do before coming to see me.I practice how my elders in the orisa tradition practiced for a long time: I work one-on-one with you for as long as you need.
