Pain Management

Each person perceives and endures pain differently, and it can be influenced by emotional and physical factors. Pain is caused when the body responds to irritation, pressure, heat, cold, injury, stress, or certain diseases. Acute pain is a useful sign that there’s something wrong with the body from an immediate trauma or underlying condition. Pain that lingers more than six months after an injury has healed, or conditions such as recurring migraines and headaches, arthritis, recurring back or neck pain, and certain neurological disorders are considered chronic.

Many conventional methods are ineffective in treating chronic pain. One method for pain relief is to go into the pain; feel it fully, ask for it’s “gift”, what there is to learn. Then get a sense of what the pain looks like, how big- is it the size of a beachball or a baseball? Use your imagination to change it’s size. See it as a walnut, then a basketball, then a period at the end of a sentence, then see it erase or vanish, notice what happens to your pain!

Research has shown energy balancing Healing Touch techniques to be quite effective in pain reduction as well as the accompaning anxiety and depression. My treatment involves clearing pain thru touch and teaching you (or family) self care techniques.
