Allergy Free For Outdoors | For people who are allergic, allergens are everywhere. In allergy the immune system attacks materials that shouldn’t cause any reaction, but for allergic people these materials are interpreted by the immune system as dangerous intruders which should be attacked. Hence for these of us who are allergic, there is no place safe - restaurants with unknown ingredients, gardens and forests and even our own home isn’t safe if you are allergic to dust.Usually people suffer from allergies more outdoors than indoors; this is because there are more allergens outside as pollens, flowers, animals etc, and since usually allergic people will avoid having allergens indoors – such as rugs, animals and plants. During spring and summer time it is more likely to have outdoors allergies – we usually spend more time outside, enjoying the warm weather and the sun, everything blooms and the sights are beautiful, but for allergic people, it can be not such a colorful season. Tips to deal with outdoors allergies: 1. Try to avoid spending long period of times in gardens and forests, especially on windy, or dry days when pollens are more likely to spread away. 2. Don’t sow in your garden plants you know you are allergic to, and make sure someone cuts off the branches at the beginning of spring. Be careful when trimming trees in your surrounding, since pollens tend to scatter. 3. When you feel your allergies begin, gently tap on your thymus gland, 3 fingers below the clavicle in the center of the chest. This easy and simple treatment will help you reduce the allergy symptoms. 4. To strengthen your immune system – below the knee bones, on the inner side of the leg, there is a dimple, press it on both legs for 3 minutes every morning. 5. Drink plenty of water, allergy tend to cause dryness due to lose of fluids. Drinking enough water can prevent dehydration, headaches and other pains. |

The Pros and Cons of Drinking Alcohol or To Drink, or Not to Drink, That is the Question Dr. Hugh Jenkins N.D., D.C.BTA Clinician “The broad definition of an alcoholic is anyone who drinks periodically: weekend warrior, beer with the boys, cocktail with lunch, etc.,” Dr. Jenkins explains. “Moderate drinking is considered two or less drinks for a man and one or less drinks for a woman per day.”Drinking more than a moderate amount of red wine can result in an increased risk of breast cancer as well as impairs the body’s ability to absorb proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals which can lead to malnutrition. With the right amount, however, the benefits of alcohol almost sky rocket over its disadvantages. The Washington Post recently reported that people who have one drink of red wine per day have a 20 percent less chance of having a hip fracture compared to people who do not drink red wine at all. However, people who have two or more drinks per day have a 40 percent increased chance of having a hip fracture. This study suggests that people who have one drink per day have a higher bone density than those who do not drink or drink too much. To better understand and appreciate the balance alcohol, Dr. Jenkins provides some tips to consider:
- Moderation
- It is important to monitor the amount of alcohol that is being consumed on a larger scale. If a person drinks two per day, then that is a total of 730 drinks per year.
- Life Span -
Drinking more than a moderate amount of alcohol can result in a decreased life span by 10-15 years. This is caused by damage to the central nervous system and the immune system.
