An important aspect of giving and receiving is in the thought/feeling and or energy that is behind it. The act of giving can be tremendously rewarding on many levels. However when one is giving from a place of “have to”, “should”, feeling of superiority or with any expectations of how it should be received it defeats the purpose. When we give simply because we choose to without any attachments from a place of love, generosity, & gratitude the act of giving is a blessing for both the receiver and giver. Balance is also crucial. If one gives, gives, gives without keeping oneself priority and taking care of one’s needs first, this person can end up feeling “empty” or depleted and then can serve no one.

Best Ways to Give & Receive:
- Give and Receive from the heart with full gratitude and love
- Be Creative & think outside the box; not just material things but can volunteer time, give a heartfelt card, hand make gifts, be of service with you gifts (give a massage, sing, cook, clean garage/yard, etc.)
- Strive for balance: give what you can in terms of financially, time, and energy
- Give to yourself: Make sure that you are taking care of your essential needs first so that you are giving from a place of fullness, love, and happiness which is what you will ultimately share
- Be an Extraordinary Receiver as well: really appreciate and be thankful for everything you receive—that is the best gift that you can give back to the person that is gifting you!
