The foot contains 26 bones, 33 joints, 107 ligaments and 19 muscles. When the bones in your foot are out of alignment it affects the rest of the body. Since feet can mirror your general health, foot ailments can be a first sign of other medical problems such as anemia, arthritis, diabetes, kidney problems, nerve and circulatory disorders. Pain in our feet can affect our ability to enjoy most basic activities. Many foot conditions can be easily treated and even prevented by wearing properly fitting footwear, not walking barefoot and keeping our feet clean.
