Describe your services:
It all starts with a consultation, which is to have me come to your home or business to see and feel the energy of the environment. Various types of consultations reflect projects that range from enhancing and creating harmony in your current home or business, new home design, remodeling, redesigning office space, or working with large corporations. The consultation is the force that moves you forward in life.

Using Feng Shui can improve health for all members of the family, resolve sleep issues, energize careers, improve relationships, attract abundance, and totally balance your environment. We have all felt a discord or imbalance in spaces. Feng Shui creates the feeling of peace and balance that allows you to live in harmony with your environment, whether it is in your home or your office.

During a consultation, there are three levels of Feng Shui (pronounced Fung Schway) that are discussed. First, is the analysis of the shape of the land/lot and the surroundings of your house, which represents the Form School. Second, is the discussion of each area of the home itself, beginning at the front door, analyzing each room, furniture, clutter, and bed placement to increase the flow of energy into your home. We discuss color, accessories, and goals for each area of your life. This is based on BTB type of Feng Shui. The third level is to find the best direction for personal development for each member of your family (pets included!), which is based on Compass Feng Shui. This can be used when attending important meetings and positioning furniture. I love this method of Feng Shui because it is a layering approach that provides a totally inclusive way to use Feng Shui. And, a consultation is always kept very confidential and your information is never shared.

How does your healing modality work?
Feng Shui literally means Wind and Water and started thousands of years ago in ancient China. The Chinese farmer realized that if he worked with the energy of the earth and positioned his house near a supportive position, such as a mountain, he would be protected and his life would become more abundant. At our consultation, we identify the “mountains” to add support to various areas in your life.

Feng Shui reminds us that our physical homes have a definite connection with our body, mind and spirit and how we are fulfilled in life. By working with the five elements, (Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal), the bagua, (which identifies the 9 areas of your life) and the energy (or Chi) we begin to establish positive energy in our spaces. All of these components interconnect to create a balanced sense of harmony.

How do you see your services evolving over the next three years?
My goal is to spread the word of Feng Shui throughout the Midwest. We are in the midst of the energy or Chi and are in the perfect location – “Chi” cago! It is my intention to expand my services to include working on a more visible level with architects, builders, and designers, as well as physicians and clinics to further the healing of their clients. My ultimate dream would be to open a center that offers enhancement of wellness, plus a body, mind, spirit shop.

What are the benefits/results people see?
The results of a Feng Shui consultation vary in most amazing ways. From the moment that you begin to think of a consultation, the energy in your life begins to shift. Some people see results instantly. The improvements in life always come, sometimes in a surprising and unexpected way, but there is no way to gauge the time.

Here are some results:
My last client contacted her homeowners association about having a broken tree replaced. This was a discussion that started three years ago without any success. Her last contact with the association was 9 months ago, and she had given up hope of having a tree replaced. The day after our consultation, she opened her blinds and there was the beautiful tree already planted! She was delighted with this instant result! This story is not unusual, with amazing “coincidences” happening all the time.

Another Result
A female lawyer called me to have her office Feng Shui’d. After the changes were implemented she phoned me 6 months later to give me the good news that she had been named as the first female partner in the firm’s long history.

Why do people come to see you?
People contact me for a consultation when they need to balance and enhance a certain area of their life. It could be a career that needs energizing, a relationship that needs improvement, health issues, financial situations, or personal growth.

Who is an ideal client?
An ideal client is one who is ready to move forward, make the suggested changes, and embrace the improvements that will happen in their lives.

What makes you different/good at what you do?
My passion is Feng Shui! I have the ability to quickly assess a room and rearrange the layout in my mind, creating the best possible function and energy flow for your space. My goal is to create the feeling of a perfect environment for you, using many of the items already in your home, while being conscious of your budget. I founded the Feng Shui School of Chicago, teach many classes and am quick to find solutions. Feng Shui is a very serious subject, but I always add the element of fun and creativity to the consultation, and bring my Chinese gong to energize your space. And, I tell my clients that their consultation never ends. If they have questions as they begin to make their changes in the space, I am always there for them.

Philosophy/Approach

Describe your healing philosophy:
My Philosophy begins with the heart. It is my job to be honest with my clients and help them to move forward in resolving any situations where they may feel stuck.

Describe your style or approach:
My style is comfortable and down to earth. I am focused on your life improvement and shifting the chi quickly with the best possible results. Before we meet, you are sent a short questionnaire to fill out, along with the request for a floor plan of your space. This saves you time and money. When we meet, your floor plan is already mapped out into 9 areas that pertain to your life and we are ready to start implementing the Feng Shui in your space.

Why do you do what you do?
I have an absolute passion for the improvements that Feng Shui provides for my clients and have seen so many lives transformed that it is my honor to continue my work in Feng Shui. From the first moment after learning of Feng Shui, I knew that this was my journey in life. This comes from the truest part of who I am; to help others and incorporate the elements of design. It is my deep desire to assist others on their path of improvement and to create a supportive environment for them.

Education/Background

Education/Training:
My Certification is from the Integrative School of Feng Shui in San Diego, CA. I am also a student of Grand Master Professor Lin Yun, Carol Hyder, Elliott Tanzer, James Moser, Lois Jean Lang. I have been certified for 7 years but have always instinctively felt the balance in any space. I studied design at Northern Illinois University and worked at Chicago’s Merchandise Mart in furniture showroom management before my career in Feng Shui

Years Professionally Practicing:
My Feng Shui career began, professionally, in 2001after receiving my Feng Shui Certification. My school, The Feng Shui School of Chicago was established in 2007.

Contributions/Publications:
The Feng Shui Tip of the Month is an email publication that I author, which is emailed to you at no charge. (To sign up for this free tip email me at LauriePawli@comcast.net) My CD on meditations will be completed by the end of the year, and my book will be available in the Spring. I am also the Director for the Chicago Chapter of the International Feng Shui Guild.

What to expect

Describe a typical session:
The best way to prepare for a Feng Shui consultation is to do nothing in the way of cleaning, painting or rearranging anything in your environment. I need to see how you normally live or work, and what your space is like on any given day. I work with your floor plan and ask that you fill out a questionnaire giving me information on your home or office. And, I ask that you set your intentions on the improvements that need to be achieved in your life!

How long is a typical session?
A typical session is approximately 2 ½ to 3 hours.

Describe your office or treatment room:
My office is a wonderful sunlit yellow space, with a vibrant red wall!

Closing comments

Along with Feng Shui, I am a Reiki level two and have taken Chinese Face Reading classes. One of my favorite places on earth is Sedona, AZ, where I can connect with the spirit and energy of the land.
