Services

Describe your services:
I provide a wide range of integrative health services such as biological or holistic dentistry and natural therapies to maintain the structural and nutritional health of the body. I have training in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, Applied Kinesiology and Allergy Elimination Technique.

How does your healing modality work?
I provide the environment for people to heal by balancing the body’s structure, function and bio chemistry. I remove any interference fields through acupuncture or neural therapy, toxins and structural imbalance that may inhabit the body’s ability to heal. I take a whole body approach to oral health.

How do you see your services evolving over the next three years?
I am constantly taking continuing education in the fields of naturopathy, osteopathy, naprapathy, dentistry and integrative medicine to keep abreast of evolving technologies and methods to help my patients heal and maintain their health. I am currently doing program in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Benefits

What are the benefits/results people see?
People benefit from my care because I take a whole body approach to dental health. Often times the head, neck and oral structure are treated as a separate entity and not part of the whole body. The patient will experience pain in the neck or cervical region and the pain is referred from the lower back and vise versa. Often an interference field in one part of the body will show symptoms in another part of the body.

Why do people come to see you?
People come to see me because they cannot get the results they need by piecemeal treatment. They need an integrated approach to their health care needs.

This is especially true for TMD – myofacial and cranio-facial pain patients that suffer from severe headaches and neuro muscular imbalances. Traditional dental and medical approaches treat the head and neck as a separate issue; I treat it as a whole body issue.

Who is an ideal client?
The ideal client is someone who wants to maintain a state of wellness and health. Somebody who takes responsibility for their own health and understands that it takes more than a pill to get well. My ideal client understands that to stay well one needs proper nutrition, proper structural balance and biochemical balance.

What makes you different/good at what you do?
I enjoy what I do. I have spent a great deal of time acquiring the knowledge and skills I need to treat the whole person. I use an integrative approach to care taking the best from allopathic, holistic and naturopathic disciplines to treat my patients.

My philosophy is that health care and healing is a partnership between doctor and patient.

Describe your style or approach:
My approach to care is education. I educate the patient to all avenues of healing and work with them on their journey to health.

Why do you do what you do?
I enjoy being a dentist and a naprapath. I enjoy using an integrative approach to health care because I think that patients have the best chance to benefit and get well.
My practice is built on referrals and word of mouth.

Education/Background

Education/Training:
I have been a practicing dentist since 1975. I have had a special interest in holistic and biological dentistry since the early eighties. I have been trained osteopathically to treat cranio-facial pain and TMD as a whole body problem. In order to accomplish this philosophy I continued my education to become a naprapath graduating in 2002 and obtaining my D.N. degree. I also received a post doctorial degree in integrative medicine from Capital University of Integrative Medicine in Washington DC .

Years Professionally Practicing:
I have been a practicing dentist for thirty years and a practicing naprapath for the past three years.

Contributions/Publications:
Diplomat of American Academy of Pain Management

What to expect

Describe a typical session:
What to expect from a typical session would depend on patients needs.
If the patient is looking for compressive dental care, we would require a full mouth set of dental x-rays and compressive examine of the soft and hard tissues of the head and neck. For cranio-facial pain and TMD patients I would need to have a complete neuromuscular structural examine and nutritional assessment.

How long is a typical session?
An initial examine for either patient would last about one hour.

Describe your office or treatment room:
My office is multi disciplinary; I have typical dental treatment rooms and typical physical medicine treatment rooms with associated physical modalities such as ultrasound, cold laser and low-voltage muscular stimulation equipment. This equipment is used for therapeutic rehabilitation of muscular skeletal structures.

How should someone prepare for a session?
I would request that the patient brings any current x-rays, MRIs, cat scans or lab tests with them to discuss any previous care and to help with the diagnose of present problems.
