Anxiety/Fear

Fear and anxiety are normal parts of life. While fear is a rational emotional response to a real threat, anxiety is an irrational emotional response to an imagined threat. Anxiety symptoms can become worse when a person is under stress and if ignored, anxiety may eventually cause irrational fears, specific phobias (like social anxiety) and panic attacks. Prolonged anxiety may also lead to more serious physical problems such as problems with eating and sleeping. Anxiety, panic attacks and related emotional disturbances may be caused by multiple factors, including behavioral, environmental, as well as chemical. Anxiety/Fear is often connected to experiences of the past, known or unknown. You can begin to search for the source when, in an anxious or fearful moment, you stop, take a deep breath and ask yourself when in my life have I felt this way before.

My treatment for Anxiety/Fear includes an assessment of your life and present struggle; exercises for self discovery and energetic balancing; techniques for mental/emotional and energetic release and healing of past experiences and related feelings.

One of the principles of Hawaiian Huna shamanism is, “Energy flows where attention goes.” By changing the focus of your mind away from worries and toward comforting thoughts, you can relieve anxiety and start seeing actual, positive change in your life. Promise yourself every day to trust yourself, to bless the present, and to expect the best.

By taking my Hawaiian Huna shamanism class, you can start creating the life – free of worry and fear – that you want. You’ll learn the loving, transformational principles of huna, and how to use them to harmonize, heal, change or manifest what you really want in your life.

Can have multiple causes. I believe that within the cells of our bodies we carry all the cumulative emotions from all the traumas and fears from our many lifetimes, which can manifest as fears and anxieties in this lifetime as well. For example, an otherwise unexplainable fear of water or swimming might indicate a past life trauma related to water.

By listening to the client and how they describe their fear/anxiety issues, I energetically and intuitively determine the root causes of the issue and then energetically release and clear those memories with the non-touch method of Chinese Energetics.

You may know what you want or need to do but for some reason unknown to your conscious mind, are unable to do so; you just keep procrastinating. You or someone else may even have labeled this as “laziness”. Generally, procrastination is based on fear. It could be fear of making a mistake, fear of success, or any other fear. The key is to become aware of what root fear is behind the procrastination, and to heal that fear.

In hypnosis, we will go back to the source of the fear and empower you to move through it, leaving it behind. We will identify what decision you made at that time to deal with the fear, a decision that has been in your subconscious like a bug in your software, impeding your progress. We will gently change this to a positive decision, and almost miraculously, you will find that your life changes for the better.

Maintaining awareness of the present moment, which allows you to experience your system’s intelligence, is key. Remember that the health of your system is much greater than the dis-ease.

I begin by assisting clients to increase their awareness of the present moment with various techniques and accessing the inherent health in their systems.

The cause of anxiety may be worrying about the future or something we have no control over. What you can do on your own is to bring your awareness to what you do have control over. Look at what you can do in this present moment.

I would listen to the persons fear and anxiety, to get an understanding of the situation. Find out what they have done to help themselves. Explore with them ways to feel less fearful by bringing the locus of control back to them.

When patients have problems organizing what they are seeing they often get lost in the details or have difficulty quickly seeing the relationships. The task requires so much effort they become locked into the details both mentally and physically and they are unable to let go.

Clutter Clearing
Clutter is often a physical metaphor. Anger is the emotional manifestation of an inability to let go of perceived hurts. By learning to let go of physical clutter, we train our psyches to trust and the need to hold onto anger is lessened.

Alternative
Therapies

B.E.S.T therapy is designed to directly remove high brain interference from expression in the physical body. Developed to identify and then remove interference caused by stored emotional patterns, the procedure allows the patient to consciously focus on certain feelings that have been stored in the brain as memory engrams and subsequently allow the sub-conscious portions of the brain to update for current need rather than past experience. By following the specific protocol, the practitioner need not become aware of the patient's thoughts or feelings, thus eliminating the emotional interaction between patient and practitioner. Once the specific emotion, recurring thought, stress or feeling has been identified, the practitioner instructs the patient's conscious thought process, eye position, and breathing pattern to re-time the body toward a more appropriate current need. Once the patient's body is functioning based on current, updated need, rather than a series of past experiences, true healing can and will occur. The physical procedure is administered in the face-up position, utilizing the Arm Strength Check, Leg Length/Spasticity Check, and touching, lightly, the treatment points on the head and cervical spine.

A primary purpose of vision is to able to select an area for attention and simultaneously see the big picture. Often when people are anxious they get lost in the details. The details become a straitjacket. They are not seeing things in perspective. Basically, the content or details become primary and they lose sight of the context or big picture. Often these patients have moderate to high amounts of nearsightedness. Reduced power glasses and or performance lenses can immediately bring them relief. Patients report as soon as the use the new lenses they feel calmer. Their whole body becomes more relaxed. Visual Training is also very beneficial.

Chinese Medicine/

A state of anxiety is a composite of feeling and physiology, like muscle tension and heart palpitation from worry about social and financial disasters or worry about loss of self-esteem. There are four dimensions of anxiety: (1) Self talk - how you actively think about, interpret and talk to yourself about stressful situations in everyday life, (2) Direction of attention - Attention focused on yourself and your worries, (3) Response to bodily signs of tension, and (4) Basic beliefs and assumptions (e.g., perceived inferiority or disadvantages. The only way to get rid of problem behavior is, simply, to stop doing it. Self talk is an attempt to reaffirm a vital sense of inner worth. Tying one's self-worth to performance standards leads to excessive concern about other people's opinions. It results in fearfully watching the reactions of others for clues as to where one stands in life or how one measures up in others' eyes. TCM uses a combination of modalities to help create behavioral change and handle anxieties and fears.

Energy Healing/
Acupuncture

Energy work is especially effective in detecting and freeing up the stuck energy patterns contributing to anxiety. Often, the root emotional cause of anxiety centers around feelings of lack of trust for the process and flow of life. Energy work, therefore, should be an integral part of any holistic approach to the treatment of anxiety.

Feng Shui
There may be combinations of energy in the home that create anxiety and fear. By either avoiding these areas or placing cures, usually a chiming clock, can help alleviate this symptom.
- Mary Catherine Bax
Holistic Therapy
The use of a Holistic Therapy approach for resolving anxiety often involves transforming core personality issues that heighten anxiety, improving physical well being through exercise and nutritional means, developing coping skills to reduce stress, and utilizing spiritual practices to increase internal tranquility.
- Dawna Gutzmann, MD
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is highly effective to reduce fears, anxiety and panic by approaching the subconscious mind, the part of the mind where emotions and habits reside. The techniques involve hypnosis, relaxation, positive suggestion, imagery, self-hypnosis and some mind-body techniques for positive change.
- Gina Orlando, MA, CH

Hypnotherapy can address anxiety or fear in several ways. Hypnotherapy is a state of deep relaxation for both body and mind. A person who has a problem with anxiety may never have experienced this type of relaxation before. Like other emotions, anxiety or fear is held in the body as well as the mind, so simply introducing one's body to what it feels like to be fully relaxed can release some of the tension that underlies anxiety. Hypnotherapy also creates an "anchor", which is a signal that one can use to access this state of relaxation. When the anchor is activated, the body is conditioned to respond by moving into a relaxed state. This can be accompanied by affirmations, which serve to calm and center the conscious mind. At its deepest level, hypnotherapy uncovers the source of the anxiety and allows it to be released, so that the anxiety or fear is not triggered as easily. A natural state of calmness, openness, and confidence is restored.

Massage Therapy
Massage creates a feeling of well-being, which in turn, reduces levels of anxiety. Many times those experiencing anxiety/ fear may not be able pinpoint where these feelings originate. Massage can help you because it creates body awareness, which can assist you in releasing stored up anxiety, and fear in the body.

Numerology
Three is the number of creativity and the ability to vividly image. Many creative people, gifted with vivid imaginations, have a tendency to focus on all the possibilities and probabilities that could unfold in any situation. This strongly impacts the nervous system creating the actual experience within, thus the anxiety and the fear. Is the number three positioned in any of your key areas?
- Philip Clark

Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy can help you identify core sources of anxieties and fears that interfere with normal life functioning. It can also help in illuminating thoughts and beliefs that contribute to irrationally-based fears. Developing coping skills for managing anxiety will also be a goal.
- Alan Irang, MSW, LSCW

Reiki
Because Reiki works on emotional and mental levels as well as the physical level, it is an outstanding therapy for not only relieving anxiety and fear but also getting to, and helping eliminate, the root cause. After just one Reiki treatment, most people experience a sense of peace and contentment, greater mental clarity, and feelings of deep relaxation and vitality. Regular Reiki treatments are excellent preventive therapy, because they help keep the body in a relaxed, and therefore non-anxious, state.
