Emotions play a powerful role in our health and wellbeing. Anger can be an appropriate response to life situations, the way we cope with these feelings can promote the maintenance of good health even when under stress. Studies show a definite link between emotions and biochemical events in the body. Expressing anger will cause a racing heart, increased blood pressure and a surge of stress hormones. These physiological responses can place strain on the body causing an increased risk of heart disease; in addition, toxic emotions can generate symptoms of illness and an overall weakening of the immune system. Healing requires recognizing and releasing negative emotions and fostering feelings of well-being, adequacy, and self-control.

If you frequently experience anger, or have anger that is disproportionate to the situation, then your anger may be resulting from a deep wound that is calling to be healed. Usually anger is based on fear, such as the fear of losing someone or something. Once you uncover the fear and heal it, the anger simply dissipates.Using hypnotherapy, we take you back to find the situation(s) in which you felt so much fear that your response was to develop this protective armor of anger. Once these situations are uncovered and released, you will find that you just don’t get angry anymore.

Anger is natural. It is universal. It is part and parcel of our instinct to survive. It only becomes a problem when it gets out of control – or when we try to deny it and keep it locked inside. Although a number of techniques such as meditation, yoga, and breathing can help us mitigate our anger, they cannot heal it. For that, we need to feel the anger and recognize its ultimate sources in our past experience.During our retreats, we encourage men to do what at first seems a paradox: overcome their anger by allowing themselves to feel it as deeply as possible. In large part, this means looking deep within themselves and exploring their past in ways that enable them to discover and relive the experiences from which the anger springs. By acknowledging their anger, releasing it, and embracing its source, they not only ease the anger but also reduce its power to stand as a block between the lives they live and the lives they seek.
