Services

Describe your services:
I provide an escape from a lifestyle that does not promote internal peace and wellness. I strive to achieve a relief from the stress of daily life and eliminate chronic pain and tensions. People with chronic pain for 20 some years had relief within a few times of acupuncture treatment. People in disability can enjoy their life again.I treated a woman who went through five in-vitro procedures without results finally had a healthy baby helped by my acupuncture treatment. A teenage with sports back injury on bed resting for 6 months was able to gain back normal life after the acupuncture treatment. I am so moved when my patients tell me how much they appreciated my healing work.

One of my primary concerns is for the treatment of pain; pain, both chronic and injury related; pain suffered by people from the ages of 9-99; stemming from allergies, back and spinal issues, migraines to gynecological problems, infertility, ease of labor, etc.

I care about all people but I have a special interest in dealing with the issues of women and children. I strive to teach American women how to take care of themselves and their bodies so that they may effectively transition into old age with better quality of life.

How does your healing modality work?
I practice traditional Chinese acupuncture, cupping, Guasha and utilize Chinese herbs to balance the internal chemistry of one’s body to promote overall well being.

Acupuncture is based on the meridian systems. The pathway of the energy flow, Qi, is called the meridian. There are twelve major meridians that connect to twelve major organs. Keeping the Qi flowing smoothly is like having a healthy plumbing system in the house. If the Qi flow is out of balance, the pain and illness will occur. By inserting acupuncture needles to certain points to stimulate the Qi flow, it will result in a pain relief and healed illnesses. Mental and physical problems are all addressed on multiple levels as I examine the underlying causes of a malady.
Cupping is a therapy that uses a jar attached to the skin surface by negative pressure. This promotes the free flow of qi and blood in the meridians to cease pain in low back, shoulder, leg and neck. It also helps to rid cough, asthma and common cold.

In Chinese, Guasha means Gua “to rub or scrape”, sha is red, pebbly rash that surfaces afterward, signifying that cellular debris, or “stagnant blood”, as the Chinese call it, is being expelled through the skin.

How do you see your services evolving over the next three years?
To expand the practice through education by lecturing, giving seminars and teaching people to help themselves through alternative techniques.

Benefits

What are the benefits/results people see?
People report feeling less depressed, and a sense of balance. They say their stress has been eliminated; they begin to enjoy their lives on a more spiritual level. I also have heard they experience better sleep, feel more rested, have more mental acuity. This allows them to spend more quality time with their children, improve the family lifestyle; decrease anxious behaviors and aggression.

Who is an ideal client?
An ideal client is an individual who is concerned with well care; will commit to the treatments as proposed and is open to exploring the benefits of Eastern medicine in conjunction with their Western disciplines. We try to utilize the practices of both to promote a healthy lifestyle.

What makes you different/good at what you do?
I think it’s two things: (1) I am the third generation practicing Chinese medicine and my aging mother is still free of pain, emotionally sound and a content individual. I have grown up with these treatments and philosophies and I feel that it’s an innate part of my treatment. These are not merely “learned” techniques, they are instinctual.

(2) I understand people besides their physical issues; I understand the psychological and emotional issues as well and am able to listen to both the traditional and nontraditional symptoms being experienced by a patient.

I have always lived Chinese way of life which includes being naturally healthy. I wish all Americans knew they can benefit from the eastern culture and life style.

Philosophy/Approach

Describe your healing philosophy:
I try to teach a lifetime of well being and maintenance of the immune system by balancing the True Qi and the evil qi. This is a lifelong battle that requires constant attention to one self and the issues faced every day.

Describe your style or approach:
The first time people come in they are very anxious so treatment is cautious; as they come in on a more frequent basis, they relax and train their bodies to respond in a more positive way to the treatments provided.

The addition of daily meditation before sleep and relaxation therapies help to decrease stress on a daily basis to prevent illness and chronic health problems. I work to boost the natural immune system.

Why do you do what you do?
I feel very lucky to enjoy my work; it’s interesting and I love what I do. I feel fortunate to make a living improving the lives of others through my therapies and treatments. The patients provide constant feedback and a sense of pride in Chinese medicine.

I have two beautiful boys. I received acupuncture treatments from my doctor friends for my morning sickness and sciatica during my pregnancy. My mom gave me acupuncture treatment before my delivery. It took only half hour from the time when I arrived the hospital to the completion of the labor. Both my boys have always used Chinese medicine to cure their cold, fever, flu, bronchitis and ear infection. I really enjoy watching their growing up happy and healthy.
